Within an hour of Phoenix, Superior may be one of the best kept secrets for dining experiences across the state. From fresh food markets to unique dining spaces featuring menus full of family recipes, Superior is a fantastic place to get a tasty meal.

barmacy

Located in historic downtown Superior, the Superior Barmacy has been a pharmacy/drug store since 1913, unfortunately falling into complete disrepair until a major renovation recently completed in Summer 2019. The Barmacy patio was the original location of the Superior theater, built in 1923, and still sits at a slope replicating the original pitch of the theater floor. Come in for dinner and drinks and enjoy a ‘new’ piece of Superior history.

the ladle at hotel magma

Serving up breakfast, Monday through Sunday, The Ladle is located in the recently renovated Magma Hotel; first constructed in 1912. Accented by French doors that open onto a courtyard patio, a “copper” ceiling replica of the original and an ornate bar claimed from the movie set of “John Wick 2, The Ladle is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered in downtown Superior.

A great place to stop for breakfast or lunch, Buckboard City Cafe also hosts the World’s Smallest Museum on site. Try the biscuits and gravy and then you (and no more than one friend) can check out all that the museum has to offer!

Main Street Food Court has a newly remodeled look. It has become one the towns main attractions! You can come to downtown main street and sit the Food Court and enjoy a little picnic or just sit down and enjoy the beautiful colors, flowers and the water fall. If you have a Tesla you can plug in and charge it well you enjoy what view.

This new Farmers Market, a part of the larger Copper Communities Food Hub, will be a treat for those who enjoy local food and culture. The Farm to Fresh Farmers Market in Superior is open 4 – 8p on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. The Farm to Fresh Farmers Market in Dudleyville is open 9am – 12p on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month. After getting your fill of delicious treats and local wares, take a walk down Main Street to enjoy the beer garden and local boutiques.

There is so much more than meets the eye at Felicia’s Ice Cream Shop. With seasonal homemade flavors like Prickly Pear ice cream, this is definitely the place in town to stop to satisfy your sweet tooth. With a pizza selection that will make your mouth water, it may be easy to miss the crisp salads and delicious subs also on the menu. Frankly, you may have to visit more than once to truly try all the amazing dishes Edwardo’s has to offer.

juan’s central bakery

A family-run bakery since 1957, Juan’s uses fresh bread recipes that are over 120 years old, and specializes in Mexican Pink Cookies and raisin bread.. Each day, a different specialty bread is offered; on Tuesdays and Saturdays get a fresh Empanada in pineapple, pumpkin, peach or apple; Chochitos (little brown pigs) are offered on Wednesdays; Conchas (or Pan de Huevo) on Thursdays; Cream Puffs on Friday; and special order dinner rolls on Saturday. Although Juan passed away in 2007, his great-grandson reopened the bakery a year and a half ago, using the same authentic recipes and perfecting them in his own way. People come from all over the world to experience and taste the authentic wares served up at Juan’s.
