Gila Valley's heritage is a culmination of its deeply-rooted in Native culture, vivacious Mexican influence, and agricultural lifestyle. Today, the community celebrates its tradition while simultaneously building on their initiatives to modernize old methods in a lense of economic and environmental innovation.

Graham County Fair

Each year, this staple event draws families from communities near and far to the Graham County Fairgrounds. The County Fair features a carnival, juried exhibits, and animal shows and auction, gymkhana, horse show, live entertainment, talent shows, and free games with cash prizes.

Gila Valley Pioneer Days

Eastern Arizona Museum

Housed in three historic buildings - Bank of Pima, Cluff Hall, and the Old Rexall Drug Store - the museum showcases the area’s rich history while preserving important artifacts.

Mills Collection at Eastern Arizona College

Renowned archaeologists, Jack and Vera Mills, spent over 30 years conducting extensive excavations on archaeological sites in Southeastern Arizona and Western New Mexico. Thier impressive collection is now on display, free to the public, at Eastern Arizona College’s Student Service Building. In fact, the building, and particularly the atrium area of the lobby, was designed with the Collection in mind. The public is invited to view the display for self-guided tours during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci Copper Mine:

The Safford mine is one of the most environmentally advanced copper mines ever built and one of the newest copper mines in North America. The operations currently employ approximately 700 and have produced over one billion pounds of cathode copper since mining commenced in 2007. Visitors are welcome to enjoy an inside look at a working copper mine that provides the metal for products that are essential to our everyday lives and lifestyles.
